The Houston Astros’ quest for their first World Series title begins in earnest Tuesday night as they visit the L-A Dodgers for Game 1 of baseball’s championship series. Houston sends ace Dallas Keuchel to the mound versus L-A’s top arm, Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers are making their first World Series appearance since 1988 when they beat Oakland.

The L-A Kings saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in Toronto. Frederik Andersen made 36 saves as the Maple Leafs beat the Kings 3-2, handing L-A its first regulation-time loss of the season. Toronto improved to 7-2-and-0. In the only other NHL game, San Jose dumped the N.Y. Rangers 4-1.
The struggling Edmonton Oilers cap a three-game road trip Tuesday night against the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Edmonton is 2-5-and-0 to start the year and superstar Connor McDavid hasn’t scored since the Oilers first game of the season, when he recorded a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Calgary. The Montreal Canadiens will look to snap a seven-game losing streak as they host the Florida Panthers at Bell Centre. The Habs haven’t been able to win a game since their season opener against the Buffalo Sabres on October 5th. Around the ice, Ottawa hosts the Kings, Calgary visits the Predators in Nashville and Vancouver takes on the Wild in Minnesota.
