Stan Chaisson of Bear River and Charlottetown, PEI is the winner of 2017 PEI Marathon. His time was 2 hours, 35 minutes and 24 seconds as his Chip time and 2.35.25 as his gun time.
The 35 year old runner went the distance wire-to-wire in his 10th marathon and with his second fastest time. He says only 2009 can beat his mark this year.
Kris Taylor of Hunter River, PEI was second with a time of 2.48.09 or about 13 minutes behind on the 42.2 K event (26.2 miles).
Taylor says there were ideal conditions for the event. He says his training also paid off.
Vincent Merriam from Stratford, PEI was third.
All three qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2018.
Top female finisher was Jocelyn Peterson of Charlottetown with a time of 3.18.55 which qualifies her for Boston.
The Half Marathon won by Ryan Merrett from Summerside in 1.18.16.
Bree Bates the top female finisher in 1.28.09.
The 10 K won by Aivar Koppel of Charlottetown in 38.13.
Ryan Keliher of Stratford was second just 28 seconds behind.
The 5 K won by Joel Gallant of Wellington, PEI in 17.42.
The Corporate Relay taken by the Cross Fit 782 men’s team.
