This is Prince Edward Island Marathon weekend.
On Saturday, there’s the Kids Spud Run at 11am at the UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place.
Then, on Sunday of course, there is the Prince Edward Island Marathon itself — a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. It’s attracting hundreds of runners from every Province in Canada, the USA, and internationally. Runners begin at the Brackley entrance in PEI National Park and end up in Downtown Charlottetown.
There will be temporary road closures in effect from 7:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.along the marathon route.
There are several other divisions and categories as well: Half Marathon Run; Half Marathon Walk; 10k Run; 10k Walk; 5k Run; 5K Walk; Corporate/Team Relay; and the 1K wheelchair.
