The UPEI Panthers looked good for the first 35 minutes of the game leading the UNB Varsity Reds, 1-0 but things went sideways after a 5 minute major to rookie Filip Rydstrom. The defending national champion Reds went to work and turned things around with three goals final 5 minutes. UNB scored twice on the power play. Stephen Anderson scored two of the goals.
The Reds added another power play goal in the 3rd and a short handed effort on their way to a 5-3 win.
Sam Aulie, rookie Kameron Keilly and Ryan MacKinnon scored for UPEI.

The Charlottetown Islanders were shutout for a second straight game as they fell 4-0 to the visiting Saint John Sea Dogs in the Q.
Cody Porter made 28 saves for the shutout.All four Saint John goals came on the power play. Two of them scored by Osap Safin. The Islanders are 1-5 and host the unbeaten Quebec Remparts (5-0) tonight at 7.00.
Quebec edged Halifax, 3-2 in overtime.
Summerside’s Jeremy McKenna scored three times and added an assist in Moncton’s 5-3 victory in Sherbrooke. The Wildcats are 5-1.
The Armada got by Acadie-Bathurst, 5-4 in overtime.

The first win in Las Vegas Golden Knights history under coach Gerard Gallant. The Knights used a pair of James Neal goals in the 3rd to edge Dallas, 2-1.
Columbus shutout the NY Islanders, 5-0.Sergei Brobrovsky with 29 saves in the nets. Sonny Milano had the winner in the 1st period.
Tampa Bay outlasted Florida, 5-3. Brayden Point with a goal and two assists for the Lightning. Ondrej Palat scored twice.

Yan Gomes singled home the game winner in the bottom of the 13th as the Cleveland Indians got by the NY Yankees, 9-8 in the American League Division Series. Cleveland up 2-0. The Tribe did lose DH Edwin Encarnacion with a sprained right ankle.
The Houston Astros have a 2-0 lead on Boston bouncing the Red Sox, 8-2. Carlos Correa with a 2-run homer and 2-run double.
The Cubs blanked Washington, 3-0 in the NLDS.Chris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo had RBI singles in the 6th. Stephen Strasburgh had a no hitter into the 6th inning.
Justin Turner had a 3-run homer and 5 RBIs as the Dodgers won 9-5 over Arizona.

UPEI lost 60-53 to Concordia in the Stingers womens basketball pre-season tourney. Jenna Ellsworth led UPEI with 20 points.
The new look men’s Panthers fell 101-89 to Southern Alberta Trojans in the Capers Classic in Sydney, Nova Scotia.Moshe Wadley led the Panthers with 16 points.
