For the first time in P.E.I.’s history, the new Lieutenant Governor will be sworn in outside of Charlottetown.
Antoinette Perry will officially take office as the province’s 42nd lieutenant-governor on October 20th at the Tignish Parish Centre.
She will succeed Lt. Governor Frank Lewis.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan will represent the government of Prince Edward Island, while federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Lawrence MacAulay will represent the Government of Canada.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 in the morning and there will be a public reception at the Tignish Heritage Inn and Gardens afterward.
