A new report is shedding light on the latest right whale deaths in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
The analysis of six whales suggests four were struck by ships and one died while caught in fishing gear.
The sixth was too decomposed to make a determination.
And the preliminary findings from an examination of a seventh carcass indicate it, too, was caught in fishing lines.
The findings of the necropsies were released during a news conference held at the Atlantic Veterinary College on Thursday
