A 31 year old Summerside man will remain in custody until a court appearance next week as he’s been charged in connection with a robbery in Summerside Wednesday night.
It was about 11:45 Wednesday night when Summerside Police responded to a panic alarm sounding at a convenience store. When officers arrived on scene, they were told by the store’s staff that they had just been robbed at knifepoint. The suspect fled the area on foot just prior to police arriving.
The investigation led to the suspect being identified, and police located and arrested him early Thursday morning. He has been charged with robbery and also faces two counts of breach of an undertaking and possession of a controlled substance.
No one was injured during the robbery.
