An update from the City of Charlottetown regarding the work planned for the Queens Arms intersection of Capital Drive, North River Road and Lower Malpeque Road. It will be closed for about two weeks starting Monday.
The culverts and storm channel at that intersection need to be replaced. If they’re not replaced now, then there’s a danger of the road collapsing eventually.
The City says having the full closure will help speed up the construction work that has to be done, and limit the number of days the intersection would have to be closed.
Signage will be in place around the construction site indicating that businesses are open. Crews will be on-site directing traffic, and allowing those who want to get to an area business.
