Residential sales in PEI for the month of July were up over the same month last year.
The Prince Edward Island Real Estate Association says on a year-over-year basis, property sales increased 4.2% from the previous year with 199 units in July of this year.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 1,169 units over the first seven months of the year, rising 2.2% from the same period in 2016. This was the highest level for this period on record.
The average residential price was $192,605 in July 2017, rising 10.4% from July 2016.
New listings numbered 330 units in July 2017. This was an 8.6% decrease from last year s July reading and the lowest level for this month in over a decade.
