Business owners on the Island are concerned that cruise cancellations will impacti their bottom lines.
They say measures to protect North Atlantic right whales are hurting the Island’s tourism industry after 10 cruise ships cancelled stops in Charlottetown.
Tourism in the city is expected to stay strong this season despite the loss of about eight-thousand cruise ship passengers.
The speed restrictions in the Gulf of St. Lawrence have also affected cruise traffic in Quebec and Nova Scotia.
