Ottawa and the province have reached a three year agreement, which will see $10.5-million invested in PEI’s early learning and child care systems.
The investments will focus mainly on making early learning and child care more accessible….serving island families who’ve had access issues previously, such as those children whose parents work seasonally or non-standard hours, Newcomer families and Acadian and French speaking communities.
Tuesday’s announcement follows the Early Learning and Child Care Framework agreement reached in June by Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers. The framework is aimed at increasing the quality, accessibility, affordability, flexibility and inclusivity of early learning and child care.
