He stopped UFC champion Conor McGregor in the 10th round to end the boxing spectacle of the summer by a TKO in Las Vegas. Mayweather a career perfect 50-0 record and earned more money than any fighter before him including an estimated $200 million dollars for his last bout.

The Toronto Blue Jays escaped with a 10-9 win over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday afternoon.Toronto led 8-2 after a 6 run 5th sparked by Josh Donaldson’s 8th home run in 13 games, a two run shot. Max Kepler’s grand slam in the 8th cut the lead to 8-7. Donaldson doubled home a run in the bottom of the 8th and scored to make it 10-7. Roberto Osuna came on in a nervous 9th to get the save.
Tim Beckham hit a 3-run homer and Jonathan Schoop hit a solo shot as the Baltimore Orioles blanked the Boston Red Sox, 7-0.
The New York Yankees doubled Seattle, 6-3 and moves to within 3.5 games of the A.L. East leading Red Sox. Jacoby Ellsbury hit a three run homer that broke a 1-1 tie and drove in another run with a single for a 4 RBI day.
The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a rare loss. The 91-37 Dodgers were blanked 3-0 by Milwaukee.

PEI lost 11-1 to unbeaten Quebec (4-0) in the Canadian Under 15 baseball championship to finish 1-3. PEI was limited to three hits off winning pitcher Emilen Pitre. The losing pitcher was Connor Ellsworth. Eduouard Cournoyer hit a pair of home runs for Quebec.
PEI plays Alberta this morning for 7th & 8th place.
The gold medal goes this evening at 5.30 at Queen Elizabeth Park.

The Charlottetown Islanders lost their third game this week in pre-season Q action falling 6-1 to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.Cayse Ton had the lone Islanders goal. Justin Ducharme with 2 goals for the Titan. Jordan Maher added three assists and Summerside defenseman Noah Dobson had an assist.

Big centreman Filip Rydstrom returns from Sweden after playing last season in the United States Hockey League in junior (10-26-47 with Omaha & Indy). He played two years with Charlottetown in Quebec Major Jr.
Another forward Nathan Yetman joins the Panthers. The Newfoundlander played with the Summerside Western Capitals last season (15-27-42 in 48 games). He also spent some with the Charlottetown Islanders prior to playing in Jr. A.
The Panthers also have goalie Matt Mancina in camp. He played last year with the Mississauga Steel Heads in the OHL with a 3.25 goals against average.
