Starting this fall, the province’s Adult Day Program will see expanded hours in Alberton, Summerside, Charlottetown and Souris.
The program helps seniors remain at home by providing meaningful, person-centered activities in a safe environment.
Officials say the expanded hours will allow for an additional 40 program spaces each week, beyond the 160 to 180 now available province wide.

Starting in the fall, the program sites in Alberton and Souris will increase their hours from two days per week to three days. The Summerside and Charlottetown sites will begin offering programming on Saturdays, on top of the weekdays already offered. Charlottetown will also extend its daily operating hours to make it more convenient for family members and caregivers to drop off and pick-up their loved one.
To support the program expansion, an additional 2.7 full-time staff positions are also being hired.
