PEI has its first medal at the Canada Games. Alexa McQuaid put Team PEI on the medal board with a silver medal in the 50M Breaststroke Tuesday night.
Also in the pool Tuesday, PEI’s Ellen MacNearney made the A final for the 50 M breaststroke SOC, while Charlie Morse finished 5th in the 100 M Freestyle B final, and Logan Palmer finished 5th in the 400 M Individual medley B final.
The men’s soccer team played well but lost 1-0 to Alberta.
The ladies volleyball team defeated Yukon 3 sets to 2 to win the match. Then they lost 3-0 to Nova Scotia. The men’s volleyball team lost to Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.
The ladies softball team lost 7-5 yo Quebec, and beat beat Newfoundland Labrador 10-3
Jason Poley and Mya Chisholm were the top golfers for PEI Tuesday.

The official draws took place Tuesday morning for the two Gold Cup & Saucer trials. There’s a lot of speed in the field, including that of returning champ Ys Lotus, who drew the three spot in Trial #2.
There are 16 Islanders who are connected to six starters as owners or trainers in the 2017 trials.
