Almost mid-way through August, the Charlottetown Airport is seeing record passenger numbers in what is expected to result in the busiest summer ever for the airport.
Passenger stats show the month of July had the most passengers ever in one month as 52,754 made their way through the airport, breaking last year’s record setting month of 52,101 passengers.
Charlottetown Airport Authority CEO, Doug Newson says year to date, traffic is up 4% overall.
Newson says hitting a record number of passengers in the month of July is fantastic and all forecasts point to exceeding that number in August.
He adds that tourism is up, the weather has been fantastic, the dollar is attractive to American’s, making for the perfect combination.
