Roger Federer is up to number three in the world rankings after his victory at Wimbledon. He ended last season in the 16th position. On the women’s side, Garbine Muguruza’s first championship at Wimbledon sent her to number five from the 15th position.
Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Brian Campbell is retiring after 17 N-H-L seasons. The 38-year-old won a Stanley Cup with Chicago in 2010. He also played for Buffalo, San Jose and Florida. Campbell will join the Blackhawks’ front office, assisting with community and youth hockey initiatives and marketing.
