RCMP have had a report of a laser interfering with the landing of a plane at the Charlottetown Airport last night.
Around 11 o’clock Sunday night, RCMP say an inbound commercial aircraft was affected by a green laser as it flew over the Brackley Beach area.
The pilot was able to land the plane without incident at the Charlottetown Airport despite the green laser shining into the cockpit for approximately 5-10 seconds.
RCMP say shining a laser at an aircraft is a serious Federal offense where offenders could be charged under the Aeronautics Act and face up to $100 000 in fines and/or 5 years in prison.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Queens District RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
