A 39 year old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison on robbery and assault charges that go back to 2015 and 2016.
John Joseph MacArthur gets 8 years plus a month following guilty pleas in Summerside Provincial Court. All charges involved one victim.
His previous criminal record played into the length of his sentence which will be less 13 months already spent in jail.
MacArthur has to pay A $300 victim surcharge. He is also banned from owning firearms and has to submit a DNA sample to the national criminal registry.
