Fire has destroyed a young couple’s home in Dunstaffnage on Thursday.
The couple was not at home when the fire broke out in the home but all of their belongings were destroyed.
Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross have offered them emergency purchases of clothing, food and other essentials.
An R-C-M-P officer spotted the fire around 4:30 in the afternoon on St. Peter’s Highway.
The North Shore Fire Department, Charlottetown Fire Station 2 and the East River Fire Department all responded to the call. It took about an hour and a half to get the blaze under control.
An RCMP officer had to go to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The Provincial Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
