The new leader of the federal Conservative Party was on the Island for the Canada Day weekend.
Andrew Scheer spent a family day with his wife Jill and their five children in Victoria Park in Charlottetown. He was also here on Sunday.
Scheer was the choice of Islanders in the leadership vote in May. More than 70 per cent back the MP and former Speaker who is from Saskatchewan.
Scheer says he is listening to Islanders concerns and people across Atlantic Canada.
He will continue his eastern visit with other stops in the Atlantic provinces this week.
He says he wants to hear from people in the region which will help formulate the types of policies the Conservatives will use for the next federal election in 2019.
