People all over the world are holding similar marches including a massive women’s rally in New York City.
The United Nations is negotiating a treaty that would ban and prohibit the use of nuclear weapons. If passed it would be a legally binding international agreement. Negotiations continue until July 17th.
Marian White of the Island Peace Committee is urging Islanders to attend the march today and send a message to the Canadian government.
White says it’s a disgrace Canada is one of the nations not supporting the ban.
