Allan Curley, manager of the Prince Edward Island Youth Centre, has received the Premier’s Diversity Leadership Award for 2017.
Curley oversaw the construction of a sweat lodge on the grounds of the youth centre in Summerside to help meet the needs of Aboriginal offenders in a way that reflects their culture, traditions and practices.
In presenting the award, Premier Wade MacLauchlan said it recognizes and celebrates those who have demonstrated their commitment to diversity and inclusion in the public service.
