After Wednesday’s mass resignation by the 11 members of the Health PEI Board of Directors, Government will appoint a trustee to take over the responsibilities until a new board is established.
The board had concerns as the province moves to change the governance of the health care system.
Those changes will see the Health and Wellness Minister take on some of the powers that had been held by the board.
Minister Robert Mitchell calls the board’s resignation “unfortunate” but says he respect the decision.
