The expansion Knights scored a 2-1 victory over the Jets in Winnipeg to capture the NHL Western Conference final in five games.
Winnipeg born Ryan Reaves deflected in the winning goal at 13.21 in the 3rd period.
Alex Tuch scored in the 1st to put Vegas ahead before Josh Morrissey tied it for the Jets.
Knights goalie Marc Andre Fleury made 31 saves for the self-proclaimed “Golden Misfits”.
Vegas has gone 12-3 in the playoffs under Island coaches Gerard Gallant and Mike Kelly.
At the start of the season the Knights were 500-1 shots to reach the Stanley Cup.
They certainly beat the odds.

The NHL Eastern final could be determined tonight. Tampa Bay is at Washington tonight leading the Capitals, 3-2.

Team USA used a pair of empty net goals to beat Canada, 4-1 in the bronze medal game of the World Hockey Championship. Canada trailed 2-1 late and in a desperation move elected to pull the goalie. Chris Kreider scored twice including one of the empty netters. Nick Bonino with the game winner in the Americans three goal 3rd.
Canada misses out on the medals for the first time since 2014.

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan built up an early lead but had to hold on to get by the host Regina Pats, 8-6 in the Memorial Cup. The Pats rallied for 4 goals in the last period.

Nothing went right for the Toronto Blue Jays as the Oakland A’s swept them 9-2 on Sunday. The Athletics won all four games scoring 4 runs in the 5th and 6th. Shortstop Marcus Siemien homered and had 3 RBIs. Joe Biagini took the loss to fall to 0-3 as the injury riddled Jays slipped to 22-25.
