Funeral service for student-athlete Brodie McCarthy will be held this morning at the Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home.
McCarthy, who was a Grade 12 student at Montague Regional High School, succumbed to brain injury on Mother’s Day after surgery in Moncton City Hospital.
The 18-year old suffered the injury while playing in a rugby match in the David Voye Memorial Tournament at Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside on Friday, May 11th.
He also played hockey with the Kings County Kings Midget AAA team.
He is the son of David and Lisa McCarthy and was from Cambridge. He leaves behind two brothers and his girlfriend Trinity.
The funeral service at the Funeral home 11 a.m. with interment in St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery.
