A very successful Special Olympics Canada 2018 bowling championship held in Summerside, Charlottetown and Tyne Valley this week.
There were 400 Special Olympic athletes competing from all over Canada.
The final day of competition on Saturday in five pin.
After the event three Islanders were presented with their medals at Murphy’s Community Centre. Kaitlyn MacKinnon, Regan Hackett and Jonanthan Watts were presented.
Their coach longtime volunteer Rickey Burns couldn’t be happier for his team and the great week put on by PEI.
PEI won a bronze in 10-pin during the week.
PEI team members Paul Phillips, Kevin Ramsey, Wayne Dyment and Jenna Smith all won medals that were presented by Summerside Mayor Bill Martin at Credit Union Place.
