An Island-based cannabis producer and supplier says his company will create between 100 and 200 jobs once a 35-million dollar expansion project is complete.
Edwin Jewell, president of Canada’s Island Garden, made the announcement Friday in Charlottetown, saying the company has so far created 20 jobs and they intend to increase that number 10-fold.The first phase of the expansion is expected to be completed in August 2019, and will see a 166-thousand square-foot greenhouse, and a 54-thousand square-foot warehouse and processing area.

Phase two will add another 90-thousand square-foot greenhouse, with both phases expected to be complete by 2020.
