Two lobster fishermen are dead after a boat capsized off the waters of Inverness County in Cape Breton early Saturday morning.
Nova Scotia RCMP received a 911 call around 6.00 yesterday morning about a boat that had capsized about 100 metres off the shore near Port Hood.
The 30-foot lobster boat had three men on board.
The 39-year old captain and a 58-year old helper died while the captain’s 18-year old son was taken to hospital.
He pulled the others to the beach.
A local fire department and the Coast Guard helped in the recovery.
Attempts to resuscitate the two men were unsuccessful.
The Nova Scotia Department of Labour is investigating.
