An Island man has pleaded guilty for neglecting ten dogs in his possession under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Kenneth Graham has been ordered to pay restitution for the costs of the seizure by PEI Humane Society animal protection agents in November of last year.
The costs total just over 21-hundred dollars.
He is also prohibited from owning a dog for five years except two dogs that live in the owner’s home.
They showed no sign of neglect.
He’s also fined $750 with a $250 surcharge.
Nine female adult dogs and a male hound dog were seized after being found to be in distress living in a barn with no light, food or water present.
The dogs were malnourished and frightened.
Five of the dogs had to be euthanized.
