Green Party Leader Peter Bevan-Baker says the cost of naloxone kits to help street drug users who overdose may readily be available but the $50 cost is a huge barrier.
News last week of a drug seizure by Charlottetown Police revealing cocaine laced with Fentanyl has raised concerns for many and the issue made it to the floor of the PEI legislature.
PEI Health Minister Robert Mitchell says it is indeed a concern.
The minister says the Naloxone kits are available at needle exchange sites, at the Provincial Addictions Centre, the Queen Street Recovery Clinic, Montague and Souris community health and addictions sites and the provincial corrections centre.
