A woman from Charlottetown has been found lying about being suicidal to avoid getting in trouble for impaired driving.
39-year-old Tina Marie Doucette told police she was having suicidal thoughts after she was arrested on March 24th for failing a breathalyzer test.
Police took her to hospital, but the doctor who examined her told them she was not suicidal and that she just didn’t want to go to jail.
Doucette, who appeared in court April 30th, was sentenced to three days in jail and is prohibited from driving for one year.
