A former Island Presbyterian minister will go to trial in Ontario this coming September on several fraud-related charges.
Harold Alan Stewart, formerly of the Kensignton area, is charged with one count of fraud under $5,000, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, four counts of fraud over $5,000, two counts of uttering a forged document, one count of laundering the proceeds of crime and one count of theft by power of attorney.
The charges stem from a friendship Stewart and a co-accused developed with a woman in Ontario who suffered losses of close to $160,000.
