A new national assessment shows that PEI’s grade 8 students have moved from the low end to among the highest in Canada in reading, math, and science.
The Pan-Canadian Assessment Program 2016 indicates that, at 91 per cent, more Island students met expectations in reading than in any other province.
PEI is one of five provinces at or above the Canadian average in reading; one of three provinces at or above the Canadian average in math; and one of five provinces at the Canadian average in science.
This latest assessment was taken in the spring of 2016 by 435 Island students.
