There were flag raising ceremonies at City Hall in Charlottetown and Summerside on Saturday in support of the National Day of Mourning to remember those who were injured or died while at the workplace.
The Day of Mourning began in 1984 by CUPE’s National Health and Safety Committee and adopted by the Canadian Labour Congress
The PEI Federation of Labour held a ceremony and public reception last night at St. Paul’s Hall in Charlottetown to honour those who have died on the job.
