A report released Thursday on youth affordable housing in Charlottetown by the City’s Youth Retention Advisory Board says the situation is critical.
With nearly 860 responses to its recent survey, more than 50 percent said they were unhappy with their current housing situation. The biggest reason was cost as they said they spent more than 30 percent of their monthly income on housing.
Report recommendations include a reduction in parking minimums, reviewing building codes, and the creation of a revolving affordable housing loan.
