Speaker Buck Watts says independent MLA Bush Dumville, the former Liberal, did not break any legislature rules by asking questions about secret meetings involving Public Accounts Committee members.
The Speaker says they were meetings between caucus members that took place before the public accounts committee meetings, so the rules of the legislative assembly don’t apply. He says it would be a caucus matter.
Dumville has questioned the Premier about strategy meetings with public accounts committee members, and allegedly influencing the committee members. Concerns had been raised that with Dumville’s questions there was a breach of priviledge.
