The Island’s Paralympic heroes are going to be honoured on Tuesday at the Rodd Royalty Inn in Charlottetown.
Mark Arendz of Hartsville, who won 6 medals in biathlon and cross country skiing and sledge hockey star Billy Bridges of Suymmerside, a member of the silver medal winning Canadian team will be given a special night.
Family, friends and fans are being invited.
PEI Health and Wellness Minister Robert Mitchell says both of them are “exceptional athletes and tremendous ambassadors for PEI.”
The doors will open at 6.00 Tuesday evening and the official ceremony will take place beginning at 6.30.
There will be presentations to the athletes on behalf of the provincial government and sports community.
There will also be an autograph and photograph session
On Thursday night there was a meet and greet for Arendz at the Kingston Legion attended by family, friends and fans.
Finance Minister Heath MacDonald, Opposition Leader James Aylward and Green Party Leader Peter Bevan-Baker were all in attendance.
