The UPEI men’s hockey Panthers season is over. The Saint Mary’s Huskies built up a 2-0 lead in the first period and went on for a 5-2 at the Halifax Forum in the deciding game of the best of three quarter-final.
Aaron Berisha and Anthony Repaci paced the attack with a goal and assist each.
UPEI received goals from Marcus Power on the power play and Cody Payne.
The Huskies now take on the 1st place UNB Reds and 2nd place St. F.X. will meet Acadia in the conference semi-finals.

The Sherwood-Parkdale Falcons lost 5-2 to the Connecticut Jr. Rangers in the Pee Wee AA final in the Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament.
The American squad led 2-0 after 2 and 3-0 early in the third. Easton Fitzpatrick and Thatcher Hughes scored for the Island boys which cut the lead to 3-2 before the Rangers put it away.

Connor McDavid picked up his 4th career hat-trick helping Edmonton double Colorado, 4-2.
Claude Giroux had a goal and two assists in Philadelphia’s 7-4 win over the NY Rangers.

The Holland College Hurricanes are firmly in first place in ACAA men’s basketball with an 18-1 record. The Canes ran away with a 122-83 win at Dal Agriculture College. Jace Colley led the attack with 21 points.

Team Lebron outlasted Team Curry, 148-145 in the NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles. Lebron James was MVP with 29 points. DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors had 21 points for Team Curry.

Auston Dillon in his Chevrolet won the Daytona 500 on a last lap pass to claim the checkered flag. He honoured the late Dale Earnhard Sr. who died in a 2001 crash.
