The Charlottetown Islanders edged the Val-d’Or Foreurs, 4-3 in overtime in the Q. Pascal Aquin tied the game early in the third and defenseman P.O. Joseph was set up by Aquin and Keith Getson at 2.28 of overtime for the winner. Sullivan Sparkes and Brett Budgell also scored for Charlottetown. The Islanders went 2-1 on their three game Quebec road trip.
Summerside defenseman Noah Dobson set up two goals including the winner as Acadie-Bathurst got by Cape Breton, 5-4 in overtime.
Rouyn-Noranda dropped Saint John, 5-3.

The Summerside Western Capitals surrendered four goals in the third and fell 7-4 in Campbellton in the MHL. Sebastien Cormier scored twice for the Caps. Jordan Spence added a goal and assist.

The UPEI men’s hockey Panthers are in Halifax tonight in the third and deciding game of the AUS quarter-finals. UPEI won 2-1 on Friday night to force the final game with Saint Mary’s. Defense appears to be the key. Saint Mary’s had outscored UPEI 42-12 prior to the third period in Game 1 in seven games this season. The Panthers have allowed the Huskies to score just once in the past four periods.

The UPEI women’s basketball Panthers lost 88-56 at UNB. Jenna Mae Ellsworth scored 21 points. Kiera Rigby was held to 9 points.
The men’s Panthers fell to 3-16 as they lost 77-66 to the Reds. Milo Sedlarevic led UPEI with 18 points.
