A fundraiser for Camp Gencheff is coming up on Thursday evening at the Atlantic Culinary Institute.
It’s called “Gourmet For Gencheff” with Holland College culinary and tourism and marketing students being very much involved.
Jennifer Lawton chair of the board for the camp that is for people with special needs and is now open year round. It costs $300,000 per year operate the camp site located just east of Stratford. It’s hoped that at least $16,000 will be raised to cover food costs for the camp for 2018. Last year $28,000 was raised.
There is an auction and a silent auction involved that includes a Montreal Canadiens Chris Nilan jersey and a gift certificate from Andrews Hockey Growth worth $500 toward a summer hockey camp.
There is also a draw for a trip anywhere Air Canada flies that provides airfare. Tickets $10 each.
Tickets are $600 for a table of 8 or $75 for a ticket.
