A 24 year-old Montague area man racked up two additional charges after trying to flee from police Wednesday afternoon.
Kings District RCMP say the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest and when they were notified of his whereabouts at a local establishment, an officer attempted to place him under arrest.
The man resisted, however, assaulted the male officer, and fled on foot. That’s when RCMP Police Dog Services were called and tracked the suspect to a nearby business where he was found hiding in a vehicle.
He was taken into custody without further incident and in addition to the outstanding warrant charges, the man now faces two additional charges of Resisting Arrest & Assaulting a Police Officer. He was scheduled to appear in Georgetown Court Thursday.
