Two-time Olympic gold medalist Heather Moyse has qualified to compete in bobsleigh for a third tine with team-mate Alysia Rissling finishing 4th in the final World Cup event in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
A record three Canadian teams will compete in Winter Games in Korea in the women’s doubles.
They also include Kallie Humphries and Christine de Bruin.
Moyse won gold 2010 and 2014 as the brakeman for Humphries and is excited to make it to a third Olympics.
Another Island athlete, Dr. Sandy MacDonald qualified for three Olympics but competed only twice in 1960 and 1964 in sailing.
He made the 1928 British Olympic hockey team but was disqualified because he was born in Canada.
Dave “Eli” MacEachern also competed in three Olympics in bobsled winning gold in the two-man in 1998.
