PEI’s unemployment rate was up a point from November to 9.8% in December but it was the lowest December unemployment rate since 1976.
900 more people were working in December compared to November.
Workforce and Advanced Learning Minister Sonny Gallant says full-time employment last year averaged 61,900 people which is the second highest year on record.
PEI’s labour force participation rate was over 66%, the highest in Atlantic Canada.
