Since noon Thursday, there were no reports of collisions in areas policed by the RCMP, and only two reports of vehicles leaving the roadway. Both those incidents were Thursday afternoon on Highway 1A — one in North Bedeque and one in Traveller’s Rest. Neither vehicle sustained significant damage, and there were no injuries.
Police say it was apparent that most people heeded warnings to avoid unnecessary travel, and those who did have to venture out adjusted their driving for the conditions.
Prince District RCMP did respond to a call at 7:50 am Friday morning on Highway #2 in Springfield in which a snowmobile trailer being towed by a pickup truck was flipped over by the wind. Both the pickup and trailer were damaged but there were no injuries.
