As a result of the strengthening winds and conditions, all classes in the Public Schools Branch and with French Language School Board were cancelled for the day.
Traffic restrictions remain in place on the Confederation Bridge with gusts as high as 120kh this morning. They have been decreasing in speed, but are still just under 100kh. On Thursday night, at some points, the winds gusting in the Strait were up to 139kh and forced a short complete closure of the bridge.
