The unwavering cold snap is forcing organizers to make changes to some big-city New Year’s Eve parties.
The Parliament Hill party will be scaled back to feature only a fireworks and light show — no live music performances.
The New Year’s Eve Party is also off in Toronto.
Charlottetown’s New Year’s In the Park has already been cancelled for tomorrow night. The Capital New Year was called off due to the freezing temperatures. But there will be an indoor party on Sunday afternoon. The City has joined forces with the Island Storm to put on tail-gate party at the Eastlink Centre beginning at noon.
Storm players will serve up hot dogs at the free event. There will be bouncy castles for the kids. The Storm will play Halifax at 2.00. Kids 12 and under will get a free ticket to the game with the purchase of an adult or senior ticket.
Summerside will hold indoor celebrations at Credit Union Place from 4-8 on Sunday.
