The Charlottetown Islanders ended the first half of the season in the Q with 4-3 overtime loss in Saint John to the Sea Dogs. Daniel Hardie scored the winner at 3.48 in the extra period.
Nikita Alexandrov and P.O. Joseph tied the score in the third period. The Islanders (20-11-2) won 20 of 33 games in the first half. They are third overall in the Maritimes and just 5 points behind Halifax.
The Mooseheads doubled Cape Breton, 4-2.
Acadie-Bathurst edged Moncton, 3-2 in a shootout. Summerside defenseman Noah Dobson had an assist for the Titan.

The Summerside Western Capitals got by the Woodstock Slammers, 4-3 in the Maritime Junior League. Kallum Muirhead returned to the line-up and scored twice. Brodie MacArthur with a goal and 2 assists. TJ Shea added a goal and assist and leads the league with 25 goals and 59 points.
The Caps are 15-11-2 at the Christmas break and have won 10 of 12.

The Ottawa Senators blanked the Montreal Canadiens, 3-0 in the NHL 100 Classic at Landsdowne Park. Over 33,000 fans on hand as Craig Anderson made 28 saves.
The outdoor game was played amid threats by Sens owner Eugene Melnyk to move the team, possibly to Quebec City unless attendance picks up and a new downtown arena in approved.
