The Atlantic Premiers are raising concerns about getting an adequate supply of cannabis ahead of Ottawa’s Canada Day deadline for legalization.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan and the other three leaders emerged from the Council of Atlantic Premiers meeting Monday in Halifax with a call for the federal government to speed up the licensing of suppliers.
Host premier Stephen McNeil says it’s up to Ottawa to ensure the supply is there.
McNeil referred to the black market, saying that if governments can’t supply enough pot — as he put it — ”someone else will.”
