A Special Weather Statement is in effect for the Island from Environment Canada.
Snow will likely develop over the province Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday night, the precipitation will change to rain, and it will be heavy rain at times, and persist into Wednesday. Before the changeover, snowfall will likely cause slippery conditions.
Current indications suggest that snowfall warnings will not be required. Significant rainfall is expected though and may require warnings.
Strong southeasterly winds are expected with this system.
