Another jump in gasoline prices overnight.
The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved, as of midnight this morning, a 2-cent per litre increase in gasoline prices. It comes on the heels of a 4-cent per litre increase this past Saturday.
With this latest increase, pump prices for regular self-serve now range from $1.13 to $1.14 per litre.
IRAC says the increase was necessary because of the continued escalation of wholesale prices.
It wasn’t just gas prices that rose at midnight.
Furnace and stove oil prices rose by 4.1 cents per litre.
Diesel prices increased by 4.1 cents per litre.
Diesel prices increased by 4.1 cents per litre.
Propane prices, depending on the dealer, rose by between 4.8 and 5.9 cents per litre.
